Calculating Total Cooling Requirements

Accurately identifying cooling requirements are a critical factor data center design and maintenance. This course describes how to estimate the heat output for purposes of sizing data center air conditioning systems. In addition, a number of heat and cooling measurement conversion options will be explored. The importance of “right-sizing” the cooling solutions for the data center will also be discussed Course Credits: • This course has been approved by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for one (1) PDH • This course is recognized for continuing education credit from IFMA for CFM/FMP Maintenance Points. • This course has been approved by the IL Society for Professional Engineers (ISPE) for one (1) PDH
• Estimate the equipment heat output for a data center • Identify data center cooling system capacity measurement components • Employ common capacity measurement conversion tools • Calculate the total cooling requirements for a data center, and you will be able to • Describe the benefits to “right sizing” the cooling solution
